
P Andrew Evans
Dr. P. Andrew Evans is an internationally recognized leader in Organic and Organometallic Chemistry, currently serving as the Alfred R. Bader Chair of Organic Chemistry and a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair at Queen’s University. Renowned for his scientific vision and intellectual leadership, Dr. Evans has shaped the field through groundbreaking research, global collaboration, and sustained academic excellence.

Trained at some of the world’s most distinguished institutions, Dr. Evans earned his B.Sc. (Honours) in Applied Chemistry from Newcastle Polytechnic before completing his Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Andrew B. Holmes, FRS. He continued his training as a NATO Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin with Philip D. Magnus, FRS, laying the foundation for a career defined by innovation and impact.

Dr. Evans began his independent academic career at the University of Delaware, rapidly advancing to Professor, before joining Indiana University in 2001. In 2006, he was appointed Heath Harrison Chair of Organic Chemistry at the University of Liverpool, further solidifying his international reputation. Since joining Queen’s University in 2012, he has continued to drive transformative research at the highest level.

His contributions have been recognized with numerous prestigious international awards, including the R. U. Lemieux Award (2023), Paul G. Gassman Distinguished Service Award (2022), Harry and Carol Mosher Award (2020), Changjiang Scholar Award, ACS Cope Scholar Award, RSC Pedler Award, Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award, and the Pfizer Award for Creativity in Organic Chemistry, among many others. He has also played influential leadership roles across the scientific community, including service on key committees and editorial boards for leading chemistry journals.

A prolific and influential scholar, Dr. Evans has authored nearly 150 publications spanning original research articles, reviews, book chapters, and monographs. He has delivered over 500 plenary and invited lectures worldwide, reflecting the global reach and relevance of his work.

Beyond academia, Dr. Evans extends his expertise to industry as President and Senior Consultant of Apieka Consulting, where he advises organizations on advanced chemical research and strategy.
